Insulin pumps are an excellent tool for consistent delivery of insulin and maintaining optimal blood glucose levels for people with type 1 diabetes. This then reduces the risk of diabetes-related complications such as renal failure and strokes.
The setting up (initation) of insulin pumps should only be done by a health care professional with specific training in pump therapy. Only those who have trained should attempt to set up pumps – initiation is potentially harmful if done incorrectly.
Our Credentialled Diabetes Educators are both trained and experienced in insulin pump initiation, as well helping with your questions and additional pump supplies.
